DLA to enter Ghaziabad

DLA the Agra based afternoon Hindi tabloid is gearing up for a Ghaziabad launch. However the date of is unknown. Since its launch the tabloid has been gaining circulation in and around Agra riding on aggressive marketing and publicity. It also launched a morning daily tabloid AM within few months of its entering the market. However with the launch of Dainik Jagran's tabloid newspaper i-next from the city and the ensuing launch of Amar Ujala's tabloid Compact, DLA will have to face stiff competition. As both the newspaper groups are well entrenched in the already crowded market. After Hindustan two more morning newspapers Rashtriya Sahara and Dainik Bhaskar are also said to be eyeing the market. Daily News Indore foray delayed

'Daily News' Hindi daily from Rajasthan Patrika's stable is learned to have delayed plans for launch of its Indore edition. It was slated for a December 10 launch. At present it has only one edition that is published from Jaipur. Patrika's evening daily News Today already has an edition from Indore. It is simultaneously published from Jaipur. Sometime back the newspaper group installed its own printing machines in Indore with an eye on second edition of Daily News from there.

After Kanpur, Lucknow and Meerut, Inext launches Agra and Varanasi editions

Encouraged by positive responses that it received in Kanpur, Lucknow and Meerut, Inext, the compact daily of Jagran Prakashan Ltd (JPL), is launching its fourth and fifth edition in Agra and Varanasi, respectively. While the Agra edition was launched on November 26, the Varanasi edition would be launched on November 27. Amar Ujala to Launch Ludhiana and Lucknow Editions

Amar Ujala , India's third largest read Hindi daily has announced the launch of Ludhiana and Lucknow editions .These editions will be launched next year. Amar Ujala launches compact version in Kanpur priced at Re 1 October 26,

A compact version of the Hindi daily Amar Ujala has been launched in Kanpur. The publication Group has identified a clear segment of readers following a test launch in the city. The price of the compact version has also been kept lower as compared to the competitors, at Re 1. “Research findings brought us to a conclusion that a huge untapped segment exists which is keen to read the morning newspaper, but is unable to do so either due to lack of time or a price barrier. This led us to develop a new product that would be priced lower than Rs 3, which is the price of most leading publications in Kanpur. In addition to the price, reaching the readers on time in the morning was another concern area. Jagran revenues Touch Rs. 141.72 Cr Mark

Jagran Prakashan Limited (JPL) , publishers of 'Dainik Jagran', India's largest read newspaper (Source: IRS), has reported net revenues of Rs. 141.72 crores for Q2FY07, an increase of 25.88 % over the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The net profit was at Rs 17.54 crores, a sharp increase from Rs 7.46 crores in the corresponding quarter of previous fiscal. The EPS for the quarter was at Rs 3.49 as against Rs 1.91 in the corresponding quarter of FY 06. Better advertising and circulation revenues from the publishing business coupled with the encouraging performance of Out of Home(OOH) and Event Management activities have contributed to the increased revenues. In the publishing business, the advertisement revenue increased by 30.11% to Rs 91.48 crores, which was driven by the increases both in rates as well as total space sold particularly color space.
