There are rumblings of dissent in Dainik Bhaskar, Jaipur. RE of the Jaipur edition of the newspaper Indusekhar Pancholi has already put in his papers. Few more names are doing the rounds. These rumours have gain credence in the light of news coming in that Yashwant Vyas will quit by 15 Feb. However it could not be cofirmed as his office is denying them as merely rumour.

DB Star tabloid from Dainik Bhaskar has entered Rajasthan. After Bhopal its second edition has been launched from Jodhpur. At present it is being circulated free of cost with Dainik Bhaskar. With the launch of DB Star a new price war has begun among the market leaders. Bhaskar and Rajasthan Patrika both have brought down the cover price of city edition to Rs 1.75.

Sources in the Dainik Bhaskar say that the group is planning to lanch its tabloid DB Star from Jodhpur. It is already being published from Bhopal. Rajasthan head Navneet Gurjar and one of the key persons of the DB Star is said to be camping in Jodhpur. The city is one of the proposed sites for IIT Rajasthan and the home district of State CM Ashok Gehlot.

Kothari states the content is different in some ways from its English counterparts. Navjyoti the Ajmer based Hindi daily is said to be on the verge of joining hands with Dainik Jagran. Merely the mention of Jagran's backdoor entry into the lurcative media market of India largest state Rajasthan has set alarm bells ringing in the corridors of competitors. Rajasthan is not only unique as far as its culture and landscape is concerned but it is among the few states of the country where power sharing is a matter to be settled between two parties. In politics they are Congress and BJP and in media Rajasthan Patrika and Dainik Bhaskar nobody has been able to change or challenge this. Even after Punjab Kesari started Jaipur edition there were no murmurs heard among the competitors. However things may change in the near future for what only time can tell.

Patrika and Dainik Bhaskar are already engaged in a price war and of late it is said a war of words has also begun on the kiss controversy. Both the players are busy raising the finger of accusation against each other.

Rajasthan Patrika leading newspaper of Rajasthan is all set to launch another morning newspaper from Jaipur. Patrika which is engaged in a price war with Dainik Bhaskar is expected to come out with its new product by 15th of this month. Targeted at youth the new product will be aggressively priced at Re.1 and will be called Daily News.

The price war has intensified among the leading newspapers of Rajasthan, Dainik Bhaskar and Rajasthan Patrika in Jaipur. Dainik Bhaskar which is sold for Rs. 1.50 in Jaipur is offering a gift of Rs. 30 on one month subscription that means its daily price comes to around 50 paise per day only. Rajasthan Patrika which is sold for Rs. 1.75 in Jaipur is offering its subscribers Rs. 40 gift that means the daily price of Patrika comes to roughly 40 paise per day. It is said that another daily Mehkta Bharat having its lone edition in Jaipur is being sold for 75 paise.
