Sources in Dainik Bhaskar say that the launch of Ranchi edition has been delayed by almost two months. Recently interviews were conducted there and nearly 70 people reached to take part in it of which 10 are said to be from Prabhat Khabar. Rashtriya Sahara is also said to be reconsidering its plans for a Ranchi launch.

Hindustan will launch its Bareli edition on September 1 thus extending its reach to Rohilkhand region of UP and Kumayun of Uttarakhand. Anil Bhaskar is going to be the Resident Editor of the said edition who was earlier with Rashtriya Sahara. On the other hand Dainik Bhaskar is all set to relaunch its Delhi edition. Some senior hands from other media organisations have joined the group.

The two states which are going to witness action in the new year as far as Hindi print meia is concerned are Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh . Dehradun the capital of Uttarakhand will see the launch of three newspapers including two tabloids. While the Delhi bases Hindi daily Hindustan from the HT media limited will see the light of day in another two or three months. Dainik Jagran will launch Inext and Amar Ujala will follow in the footsteps with Compact. Uttarakhand will be the first state after Uttar Pradesh to see the launch the of tabloids from these two major Hindi newspapers. Last year Rashtriya Sahara has made an entry to the hill state by launching am edtion from Dehradun. The media fraternity as well as readers are enjoying the ensuing war between major Hindi newspapers and are waiting for more to come. Rashtriya Sahara's Patna edition since its launch has been beseiged by exits from its editorial department. Omkareshwar Pandey the first resident editor of the newspaper in Patna is back in Rashtriya Sahara's Delhi bureau which itself has seen key correspondents moving out to the greener pastures. Some key people who have moved from Patna edition include those who were tansferred from Delhi and Noida offices of the newspaper to the city. While noted journalist Prabhat Ranjan Deen now heads a newspaper in Lucknow where he was earlier resident editor of the now defunct Jansatta Express before joining Sahara. Ex Chief Reporter Delhi who was transferred there Vidya Shanker Tiwari is now with the Amar Ujala and Bureau Chief of Patna edition Manoj Mehta is said to have moved on to the newly launched newspaper Aaj Samaj. There are few more names. Sources say the Patna edition may very soon see some more key people putting down papers.

Rashtriya Sahara's plans for launching Ranchi edition are said to have fallen of the track even before gaining momentum. The group is said to be mulling over ideas for making current editions profitable before venturing into new territories. However there are different voices inside the organisation for and against the launch. Sources have confirmed that the proposed launch may not take place in March and even if the edition comes it will not be before mid of the next year.

DLA the Agra based afternoon Hindi tabloid is gearing up for a Ghaziabad launch. However the date of is unknown. Since its launch the tabloid has been gaining circulation in and around Agra riding on aggressive marketing and publicity. It also launched a morning daily tabloid AM within few months of its entering the market. However with the launch of Dainik Jagran's tabloid newspaper i-next from the city and the ensuing launch of Amar Ujala's tabloid Compact, DLA will have to face stiff competition. As both the newspaper groups are well entrenched in the already crowded market. After Hindustan two more morning newspapers Rashtriya Sahara and Dainik Bhaskar are also said to be eyeing the market. Rashtriya Sahara (Hindi daily) which entered Patna with a bang now seems to be losing steam. Within few days of its launch it was able to find a toehole in the market largely dominated by Hindustan. Dainik Jagran, Prabhat Khabar and Aaj are other major players. Rashtriya Sahara lead in Danapur initially. Now the insiders say initial euphoria is over and circulation has fell by one third. Plagued by discontent among the employees transferred from Delhi edition path to recovery seems difficult. In between Prabhat Khabar has changed the look and feel of the newspaper to take on the competition. Hindustan has brought back Sunil Dubey as editor. Hindi dailies in Patna are busy restrategising their moves as few more players are planning to jump in the fray.
